Winston has been making pottery since he was in the 8th grade. After making a clay jar, which he thought merited little attention, he was encouraged by his art teacher to make another. Winston did so and has been making pottery ever since. He received his BFA in 1983 from the University of North Texas and has been a potter in some professional capacity for over 30 years.
Winston has sold his work to galleries in both wholesale and retail markets throughout Texas, New Mexico and Colorado. He has also owned several galleries and retail art stores.
He has had a passion for years to share God’s word with others. He felt called to pursue ministry in earnest and returned to Dallas in 1995 to attend Seminary. While studying for ministry, after working as a potter for many years, he realized that pottery was his ministry. Winston has shared his talents through pottery and preaching for church congregations, youth groups, Bible studies, private parties, youth camps, and retreats and even grief counseling ministries.
He currently lives and works in Mesquite, Texas with his wife, Becky.
